End of the 3rd nine weeks!!
I can't believe it, but this Friday is the end of the nine weeks....only one more!! :(
In Science we have moved on to Sound and next week is Light. Then we'll do Motion to finish out 5th grade stuff...then onto full review!
We really only have about 4 weeks until the OAAs, so we've already started reviewing.
In math we still need to finish up fractions and do some measurement and geometry.
In LA we need to finish figurative language then do text features and point of view.
So crazy!!! Spring break is coming soon too.
Keep bringing in Pennies!!!

This week
Pennies for Patients kick off assembly Tuesday, so start collecting those copper beauties!
Big chapter test in science Tuesday!
Math = fraction operation word problems.
LA= figurative language (similes, metaphors, idioms, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia).
If you're willing to donate dry erase markers for the class to use that would awesome!!!!!

More Right to Read Week Stuff
Here are some of our door and pod decorations that go with Catrow's books...ours isn't finished yet, so I'll upload that pic tomorrow.

Right To Read Week is This Week!!
We are having David Catrow, an illustrator from Springfield, visit this week. We are very excited!!! Check out some of his books!!
Today (Monday)=Assembly canceled due to 2-hour delay.
Tuesday=Read a Shirt Day
Wednesday=Dress up like Favorite Book Character & Illustrator David Catrow from Springfield visits with 5th grade @ 2:00 for an hour!!
Thursday= Spring picture day so NOT the scheduled lounge wear day.
Friday=Illustrator shirt (wear a shirt with a picture on it).
Meet David Catrow!!!! Tomorrow night March 4 @ 6:30 pm. If you would like to attend, please let me know.
Also this week, we are going to have a Science quiz over lesson 3 (the sun & solar system) and probably the Chapter Test!
In L.A. we are switching gears to figurative language and still working on the musician writing.
In Math we are multiplying fractions and maybe starting division of fractions.
