Social Studies

Planet Zebra Project assigned today (Monday, November 25).
This is a culminating project to apply everything we learned in our Geography chapter the past couple weeks.  Each student is designing his/her own planet including continents, oceans, mountain ranges, river, latitude & longitude lines, a compass rose, a map key, etc.
The most important part is the paragraph that goes along with the poster.  The paragraph is an opportunity for the student to explain where he/she would live on his/her planet and WHY he/she would live there.
The poster and paragraph are due on Wednesday, December 4.
We are having work days tomorrow and Tuesday, December 3, but I have encouraged the students to take it home tomorrow and work on it over Thanksgiving Break.
This is a big grade!
The next direction we are heading in S.S. is Native American groups of North America.  We will be working on a small research report with this topic between Thanksgiving and Christmas Break.
