New Year Update

The following is what you have to look forward to in the upcoming weeks :)

Calendar of Events:
Thurs, Jan 7: School Spelling Bee at 2:00
Fri, Jan 8: 2-hour delay & Buddy Day
Fri, Jan 15: End of 2nd 9-Weeks, Jump Rope for Heart Assembly, & Frozen Movie Night

In Writing the students are participating in the Great American Mail Race in which they will each write a letter and complete a survey about our school/state and mail it to a school of their choice across the country.  The letter we received asking us to join the race was from Missouri.  Hopefully we will hear back from several states and learn more about the regions of the US.

In Reading the students are inferring and supporting the themes of fiction text.

In Math the students are finishing up multiplying fractions, finding the volume of a 3-D shape, and also reviewing all 2nd 9-weeks material.

In Science the students are finishing up Astronomy by learning about the cause of Earth's seasons, the sun compared to the Earth, constellations, and reviewing all Astronomy concepts.

In Social Studies the students are learning about early explorers and their influence on the Western Hemisphere as we know it today.
